Anyone who is wondering why the Apple products AirPort Base Station, iSight etc. disappeared from the store shelves a short time before July 1? We can tell you that Apple had to recall the products from the European market in order to meet the RoHS directive's requirement since the products were not RoHS compliant.
A spokesperson from Apple confirmed to Forbes that a number of products from Apple had to be recalled since they didn't complied with the RoHS directive. However the spokesperson stressed that Apple's flag ship the iPod meets the requirements of the RoHS directive.

据HEXUS报道，由于不符合本月初开始强制执行的欧洲有害物质限制环保指令(RHoS)，ATi正在放弃All-In-Wonder系列显卡。
根据RoHS规范，镉、六价铬、铅、汞、多溴联苯(PBB)和多溴二苯醚(PBDE)等六种有害物质自2006年7月起禁止出现在欧洲市场的各类产品中。不少厂商都纷纷推出了符合RHoS规范的产品，但也有不少未能及时跟进的。在Palm的新款智能手机Treo 650和苹果电脑的多款产品之后，ATi的All-In-Wonder显卡也成为RHoS的“牺牲品”。
All-In-Wonder显卡是ATi的多高端媒体功能化产品，整合电视接收、录制功能，可提供超高视频输出品质，有着“瑞士军刀显卡”的称号，在此领域内无可匹敌。nVIDIA的Personal Cinema系列曾试图挑战All-In-Wonder，但最终没有收到任何效果。鉴于数字电视谐调器的低价和普及，ATi已经无意对All-In-Wonder进行重新设计并使之符合RHoS，转而专注于Theatre电视卡产品。
All-In-Wonder系列的最新产品是Radeon X1900 All-In-Wonder，也极有可能成为终结之作。

Palm近日宣佈，該公司旗下新款智慧手機Treo 650將不會在歐洲市場繼續銷售，因該產品不符合剛剛開始生效的RoHS法令。Palm主管在日前的季財政會議上表示，該公司將會針對歐洲買家推出符合RoHS的新產品，不過必須等到今年第四季。
Palm同時指出，在RoHS生效前，已經向歐洲廠商和供應商出貨了足夠的Treo 650，可以滿足歐洲市場的需要。今年1月和5月，Palm在美國發佈了基於Windows Mobile的Treo700w和基於Palm OS的Treo 700p，但尚沒有導入歐洲市場的計劃。根據Palm的計劃，今年還會有第三款智慧手機，可能正是針對歐洲市場所推出的型號。
